DAY 1: ARRIVAL AND CITY TOUR IN LA PAZ

Transfer from the airport to your hotel.

Walk through the historic city center, walk through the typical local markets and the famous "Witches Market". Visit to the Folklore and Ethnography Museum.

Later, enjoy the amazing panoramic views from the Teleferico (Cable Car), crossing the city towards the south zone and continue to the Moon Valley, and finally enjoy a lunch at a restaurant where you will experience the avant-garde Bolivian gastronomy (available options: Gustu, Man´qa or Ali Pacha).

DAY 2: LA PAZ - ORURO

Private transportation to the city of Oruro, it is a 4 hour trip.

In the evening walk through the city to visit the Church of the Tunnel, with the Virgin of Candelaria who made his name in the pilgrimage of dancers, in the Temple is the mining museum. We will have the chance to see the excitement that causes this carnival, which is one of the biggest cultural expressions of the world.

The Carnival of Oruro is a cultural expression, folk valuable when Andean traditions found throughout the colony with the cult of the Virgin of Candelaria, seeking to worship God the Creator with the dance of "Llama Llama" where he is the main character, this dance is now known as the famous "Diablada", which along with other dances gather to march in parades through the streets of the city to get to the Virgin of the Tunnel (Virgen de Candelaria). More than fifty sets numerous dances run for 20 hours continuously and pilgrimage front parade spectators from all over the country and world. This majestic activity is carried on a tradition that has been consolidated to be declared as a "Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity" by UNESCO.

DAY 3: PILGRIMAGE FOLKLORIC PARADE OF THE ORURO CARNIVAL

Breakfast at the hotel and later move towards the our seats at the bleachers and be on time to enjoy the first groups of dancers who arrive, we are ready to experience the greatest spectacle of the Andes!

Throughout the day we will observe the most representative dances of the Carnival: Diablada Morenada, Caporales and Tinku, among other very important for our culture.

At night we leave the stands to get back to the hotel and relax after a long day of beautiful displays.

DAY 4: ORURO - LA PAZ

We will enjoy a second day of the Oruro Carnival, this day is no longer considered a pilgrimage to the Socavón Church, however, the celebration, joy and folkloric spectacle remains.

Return to La Paz.

DAY 5: LA PAZ - SALAR DE UYUNI - COQUESA - LA PAZ

Early in the morning, flight to Uyuni. We will be waiting for you at Uyuni´s airport and we wil have some free time at the town.

First we will visit the Train Cemetery and the town of Colchani and later we will enter to the amazing Uyuni Salt Flat, on our way we will be able to see “Ojos de Agua” (Eyes of water), small salt eruptions which help us to explain the development of this huge salt lake. 

If is not too flooded you will reach the “Incahuasi Island” at noon, in the middle of the Salt Flat; there are extraordinary populations of Cactus and we will have some free time to observe the fantastic optic illusions, able to see in raining season (December- March), and take the most creative and funny pictures of our life!.

After enjoying the sunset, return to Uyuni.

DAY 6: RETURN FLIGHT

Transfer to the airport in Uyuni and return flight to La Paz.

OPTIONAL: VISIT TO SAJAMA PARK FROM ORURO


At 6:00, we begin the trip to the Sajama National Park at an altitude of more than 4,200 meters above sea level and where we will have the pride of closely observing the highest mountain in Bolivia: El Nevado Sajama, its peak is 6,542 masl.

In the Park we will visit Lake Huayna Kota where we can observe Andean flamingos before enjoying a bath in the hot springs. In the afternoon we will take a walk through the forest of queñua trees, a subspecies endemic to the area. We continue our trip towards the city of La Paz. Night in La Paz.
