About the Festival

The XV International Renaissance and Baroque Music Festival “Chiquitos Missions” 2026 will take place from April 17 to April 26 2026 in Santa Cruz de la Sierra and in the historic Jesuit missions of Chiquitos, Moxos and other regions of eastern Bolivia. This cultural event, regarded as one of the most important in Latin America for early music, brings together prominent national and international ensembles and soloists.

The festival performs works from the 17th and 18th centuries belonging to the American Renaissance and Baroque period, many of them rescued from Bolivian missionary archives. These pieces have high historical, artistic and heritage value, as they reflect the fusion between European musical tradition and local cultural expressions of the colonial period.

The Chiquitos Missions Festival is a unique experience that combines cultural tourism, architectural heritage and music in churches declared World Heritage sites, consolidating Bolivia as an international reference for American Baroque music.
